TVS Motor Co Now Part of UN Global Compact

Labour laws like the UN Global Compact have always been an important human right to have evolved over the decades. The importance of labour laws is emphasized even more when organizations like the UN created laws like the 10 principles of human rights, labour laws, the environment impact, and anti corruption. Tellingly, this becomes even more enhanced when a growing economy and emerging super power like India joins hands to recognize such initiatives and principles.

The TVS Motor Company based out of Chennai in South India has become a part of the United Nations Global Compact, a sustainability initiative that lays emphasis on human rights and labour laws with its 10 tenets or principles. What does this mean in terms of social impact for Indian industries and the population living in these industrial belts as well as the labourers working in these industries? Here’s a quick look:
