The Assam government has decided to start a new project, Arohan to improve the skills of poor students living in remote areas, while guiding them for a bright future. The government will accomplish the project in collaboration with the Tata Group, informed Chief Minister Himanta Biswa after meeting Tata STRIVE CEO Anita Rajan.

The Assam government has launched a series of ambitious programmes to improve the quality of secondary education. Under these is Project Aarohan, an initiative that will identify and monitor talented students from remote, rural and poor families, and their educational careers, says the information available on the official website.

Earlier, the Assam government had talked about the disposal of four to five lakh files lying in the state government secretariat under Project Sadbhavna. Himanta Biswa had said that from February 1, these pending files will be disposed of within a year, calling it a step towards citizen-centric governance.

The minister said that advertisements for recruitment to all the posts have been issued and the appointments will start as soon as the merit list is released.

Ranoj Pegu said, “There are various levels of recruitment, including lower primary, upper primary, secondary and post-graduate teachers. Once this process is completed, the merit list will come out and the government will start giving appointments.”
