World Happiness Report 2022: India Ranks At 136th, Finland Tops

Pakistan is ranked 121st in the list, while Bangladesh and China are at 94th and 72nd place, respectively. The people of war-torn Afghanistan are most dissatisfied with their lives.

World Happiness Report 2022

The United Nations World Happiness Report has declared Finland as the happiest country in the world for the fifth time in a row.

The report, the latest edition of which was released on Friday, is issued annually by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, two days before the annual International Happiness Day. It ranks 150 countries (146 in 2022) on issues such as personal well-being, GDP levels, life expectancy and so on. The list assigns a score on a scale of 0 to 10, depending on the average data over a period of three years.

The report ranks India at 136 position. In 2021, the country was ranked 139th. The neighbouring countries rank better than Inda.

Pakistan is ranked 121st in the list, while Bangladesh and China are at 94th and 72nd place, respectively. The people of war-torn Afghanistan are most dissatisfied with their lives. It is followed by Zimbabwe (144th), Rwanda (143rd), Botswana (142) and Lesotho (141st). The USA has been ranked 16th on this list.
