The UIDAI is hosting the “Aadhaar Hackathon 2021,” which is aimed at young innovators

From the 28th to the 31st of October, the UIDAI will hold the “Aadhaar Hackathon 2021.” The hackathon is aimed at young innovators who are still enrolled in various technical schools and are keen to get their hands dirty in the real world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a rallying cry to commemorate India’s 75th anniversary of independence as the AzadikaAmritMahotsav. To commemorate this historic occasion, UIDAI is conducting a hackathon with two distinct themes. The first theme is “Enrolment and Update,” which effectively covers some of the real-life problems citizens confront while changing their addresses.

The Hackathon’s second focus revolves around UIDAI’s “Identity and Authentication” solution. UIDAI is looking for new ways to confirm identity without providing the Aadhaar number or any demographic data under this theme. It’s also on the lookout for creative applications based on the UIDAI’s recently published facial authentication API. The goal is to make some of the existing and upcoming APIs more widely known in order to meet the demands of residents. UIDAI will award prize money and other financial incentives to the champions of each topic. All young brains are urged to create teams and compete in this inaugural event hosted by the Aad.

Under this theme, the UIDAI is looking for new ways to confirm identification without providing the Aadhaar number or any demographic information. It’s also searching for innovative applications that use the UIDAI’s freshly available face authentication API. The goal is to make some of the existing and upcoming APIs more widely known in order to meet the demands of residents. UIDAI is contacting all engineering colleges to find new technical solutions to these problems. The Aadhaar card has evolved into one of India’s most crucial documents throughout time. It’s no longer just an identifying card; it’s now necessary at every step, from investing in government initiatives to bank-related work.
