CSR: Hyundai Art for Hope will support 25 artists with a grant of Rs. 1 lakh each

The Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the company’s CSR arm, has introduced a new CSR initiative called “Art for Hope.”

The Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the company’s CSR arm, has introduced a new CSR initiative called “Art for Hope.” Art for Hope is a dedicated CSR initiative that supports artists in a variety of disciplines, including Digital Arts, Crafts, Multidisciplinary Arts, Performance Arts, and Visual Arts. A grant of one lakh rupees will be given to 25 artists with a community art project concept centred on the themes of Hope, Solidarity, and Gratitude. Shortlisted artists will get the opportunity to discuss ideas, complete an art project, and receive mentoring from industry veterans.

The projects will be on exhibit around India, notably at Hyundai Motor India Ltd.’s new Corporate Headquarters in Gurugram. Mr. SS Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India, commented on the unique ‘Art for Hope’ CSR initiative, saying, “Hyundai has responded to the pandemic with numerous important humanitarian initiatives, and Art for Hope is yet another move to inspire India’s Best Artists from all genres.” It is a one-of-a-kind programme aimed at improving the socioeconomic position of our Indian craftsmen who were afflicted by the pandemic.

Hyundai’s global vision, ‘Progress for Humanity,’ thinks that Hope, Gratitude, and Solidarity are three essential pillars that can help artists in India see new possibilities and become a beacon of hope. We believe that our modest effort will help artists get recognition and integration into the mainstream, allowing them to live happy lives.” Dr. Rathi Jafer, Director of Inko Centre (Chennai), Riyas Komu, a critically acclaimed multimedia artist and curator and the co-founder of the Kochi Muziris Biennale in India, and Priya Pall, a popular museum and arts consultant, former Curatorial Director of Bikaner House, Delhi, and a consultant to various popular museums, are among the advisory members of the ‘Art for Hope‘ grant programme.
