Sudha Reddy, philanthropist and business entrepreneur, was the sole Indian to attend the Met Gala 2021, which drew megawatt luminaries from all over the world
On Monday evening, New York City’s pinnacle night(Met Gala) of elegance and haute couture captivated celebrities and fashion luminaries. Sudha Reddy, a stylish billionaire philanthropist, made her appearance at The Costume Institute Benefit, joining the likes of Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Kendall Jenner, Kris Jenner, ASAP Rocky, and others.
Since her appearance at the Global Gift Gala with Elizabeth Hurley, the wife of millionaire Megha Krishna Reddy has been stealing the show and never fails to surprise everyone with her fashionable design choices. Following her red carpet appearance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she looked every inch the designer’s muse in a breathtakingly lavish gown, the fashionista and art connoisseur once again grabbed headlines.
The elegant philanthropist arrived in a regal Rolls Royce and wore a bespoke ensemble created by Falguni Shane Peacock, Chanel, Judith Leiber, and Farah Ali Khan for the exquisite event. The corporate doyenne’s military-themed haute couture ensemble was inspired by the American Revolution, in keeping with this year’s theme and preserving an Indian touch to her outing.
While celebrities such as Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Isha Ambani, and Natasha Poonawala have previously attended the event, the stylish entrepreneur is the first non-film luminary from Telangana and the only Indian celebrity to be invited this year. Falguni Shane Peacock, the designer behind Reddy’s costume, said, “Sudha is a long-time friend and muse for us, and we’ve dressed her for a number of special occasions in the past. This stunning statement piece took us multiple sessions and more than 250 hours of labour to complete. We put a lot of emphasis on the details and enlisted the help of our talented atelier artisans to ensure that the outfit does justice to Sudha’s unique fashion sense.”
