Telangana Health Minister T Harish Rao has inaugurated the newly constructed 100-bed facility at Kondapur District Hospital in Serilingampally, Telangana. The new 100-bed facility, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of Mindspace Business Parks REIT, is expected to play a vital role in providing free healthcare services during a possible third wave of Covid-19, Harish Rao said. Efforts are also on to add a dialysis unit at the Kondapur District Hospital for patients with chronic kidney diseases, he said.
“During the two Covid-19 waves, as part of CSR initiatives, a total of 1,300 beds were added in various government hospitals in Hyderabad. I thank Mindspace for the contribution and urge them to adopt the Kondapur District Hospital and take up its annual maintenance,” Harish Rao said.
To strengthen critical care facilities before a possible third Covid-19 wave, Telangana Health Minister said that the State government is in the process of adding 900 ICU beds in all government hospitals in Telangana with a cost of Rs. 150 crore. He also urged public representatives, including MLAs and Corporators to get involved to promote Covid-19 vaccination in a big way. “Before facing any fresh surge of Covid-19 infections, Telangana must administer vaccines to as many individuals as possible. We are already vaccinating anywhere between 3.5 lakh and 4 lakh individuals on a daily basis. I urge people to get vaccinated at the earliest,” he said.
