IT refunds: The Income-Tax Department on Monday said it had issued refunds of over Rs 70,120 crore till September 6 this year.
“CBDT issues refunds of over Rs. 70,120 crore to more than 26.09 lakh taxpayers between 1st April 2021 to 6th September 2021. Income tax refunds of Rs. 16,753 crore have been issued in 24,70,612 cases and corporate tax refunds of Rs. 53,367 crore have been issued in 1,38,801 cases,” Income Tax India tweeted from its official Twitter Handle.
The development comes amid a rash of issues that individuals are having with the IRS’s new e-filing platform, thanks to which several taxpayers have yet to file their Income Tax Returns (ITRs). These are usually issued within 10 days of submitting the ITR, although they can be delayed for a variety of reasons.
