Under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, Colgate-Palmolive has donated medical equipment worth ₹1.75 crore to newly renovated community hospitals in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. The equipment was donated to the district administrations of Shahpur, Dera, Jawali, Baijnath, Nurpur and Indora for the hospitals.
The equipment includes ultrasound machines, X-ray machines, intensive care beds, vaccine refrigerator and van machines.
Deputy Commissioner Nipun Jindal said, Colgate-Palmolive had offered to provide equipment to several hospitals in the district under CSR on behalf of the district administration and the health department. On Monday, Lokesh Manocha, director of human resources at the Colgate-Palmolive plant, handed over medical equipment to district health officials.
The company has donated 150 beds at Shahpur, Dera, Jawali and Baijnath community hospitals, 60 intensive care beds at Indora and Nurpur hospitals and two ultrasound scanners at Dera and Shahpur hospitals, he added.
