Vedanta Spends ₹ 460 Cr on Corporate Social Responsibility Projects in FY22

Vedanta Group, India’s leading producer of metals, minerals, oil and gas, has said in its recently released seventh Tax Transparency Report that it has committed Rs 399 crore (Rs 331 crore in 2020-21) under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandate.

The company claims that the development works have had a positive impact on the lives of 100 million women and children.

The company headed by Anil Agarwal also reported a contribution of Rs 54,165 crore (Rs 34,562 crore in 2020-21) in corporate taxes, royalties, oil profits and other payments in 2021-22. The contribution is around 41% of its turnover.

This year was a landmark year for the company as it recorded the highest consolidated revenue and EBITDA of Rs 131,192 crore and Rs 45,319 crore respectively. With a high focus on transparency and a commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG), Vedanta continues to deliver long-term sustainable returns to all of its stakeholders, according to the report.
