WOL3D, a three-dimensional (3D) printing solutions provider, has opened India’s first sustainable 3D printing experience centre in Lalbagh, Mumbai. For the first time in the country, the centre will bring 3D printing closer to people. Visitors can walk around the centre to learn about the technique.

The printer uses a biodegradable plastic filament acting as the primary building material. The centre is equipped with solar panels and runs on completely clean energy, further reducing its carbon footprint.

The 3D printing experience centre brings together in one place more than 12 different 3D printing technologies, including fused deposition modelling (FDM), stereolithography (SLA), selective laser sintering (SLS), HP’ MultiJet Fusion (MJF), PolyJet printing (PJP), ColorJet Printing (CJP), Metal 3D printing technologies and Concrete 3D printing.

“Though still at a nascent stage, 3D printing has rapidly gained momentum in India, especially after the pandemic. 3D printing technology is exciting, and almost like magic, but is also intimidating from the outside. Our aim is to educate India on how 3D printing can benefit people, and how they can use it themselves in their everyday lives. I believe the future is going to be 3D printed, but we want to get that future to you today,” said Rahul Chandalia, Co-Founder and Director, WOL3D.

WOL3D’s Experience Center Hall is an extension of the company’s commitment to putting India on the global 3D printing map, giving customers access to a variety of products and services for business and personal use.

Visitors to the 3D Printing Experience Center can learn about different types of sophisticated 3D printing machines, learn how to create 3D objects, and even create one for themselves.

Viewers can participate in the creative process with the help of WOL3D’s team of experts. They can design household items, branded products, custom sculptures, a prototype, architectural structures or even medical models. The team can help creators realise creation directly from their imagination.
