UPSC civil services prelims exam 2021 today

October 12, 2021

The UPCS Preliminary test will be followed by the Mains exam in January 2022 for those who pass the preliminary exam

Today, October 10, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the preliminary portion of the civil services examination 2021. The preliminary exam will take place in two shifts, from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. “The use of any mobile phone (even in switched off mode), pager, or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watches, etc., or camera or blue tooth devices, or any other equipment or related accessories in working or switched off mode capable of being used as a communication device during the examination is strictly prohibited,” according to the UPSC. Candidates are instructed to bring the prohibited objects to the exam centre at their own risk, according to the Commission.

“Candidates are urged not to bring any of the banned goods, including mobile phones/pagers, to the test venue in their own interest, as arrangements for safe-keeping cannot be guaranteed,” the Commission added. Meanwhile, well wishes have begun to flood in for those who will be taking the exam today. Candidates should arrive at the exam centre around an hour before the exam begins. Anyone who does not arrive at the exam centre at least 10 minutes before the start of the exam will be denied entry. Candidates must bring their admission card as well as a valid photo ID. The documents will be checked at the exam center’s entrance gate.

Candidates must carefully fill in the details on the OMR sheet. In that circumstance, any mismatch could result in disqualification. No electronic devices are permitted in the exam room. Candidates are, however, allowed to wear a traditional analogue watch if they so desire. Candidates must use only a black ballpoint pen to mark answers in UPSC Prelims 2021. Those taking the exam with the assistance of a scribe must bring their own e-admit card, which must have been granted to them. Candidates will not be able to take the exam if this is not done.
