Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Build OT Complex in Hyderabad Hospital Under CSR

The facility has 18 rooms built on a 10,000 sqft space and has eight rooms on the ground floor and 10 on the first floor with dedicated rooms for surgeries

Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd (MEIL) has built and donated an operation theatre (OT) complex in Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital in Vidyanagar, Hyderabad, with an investment of Rs 5 crore. This modern OT complex was inaugurated by T Harish Rao, Minister for Finance and Health. MEIL Directors P Rama Reddy, P Sudha Reddy and P Ravi Reddy were also present at the inauguration.

The 18-room facility was built under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. There are eight rooms on the ground floor and 10 on the first floor. The first floor has operation theatres for surgical, orthopaedic, gynaecology, plastic and eye surgery. Along with these, OTs for two autoclaves, special beds in post-operative and recovery wards were also provided.

“MEIL has been in the forefront of providing relief to patients and their kin through several programmes. It has also donated an Oncology facility at the NIMS and has been feeding the patients and their caretakers at several hospitals,” Harish Rao said

Ravi Reddy said that MEIL has always weighed the benefit of the project it undertakes in terms of the benefit to the common man. Greenery is provided for a healthy atmosphere for the patients. A lift was provided to shift patients from the ground to the first floor.

Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) is a major infrastructure company headquartered in Hyderabad, India. The company was established in 1989 as a small fabrication unit. In due course of time, the unit made a name for itself in the manufacturing and engineering sector.

MEIL has helped in the distribution of oxygen cylinders to public and private hospitals during COVID times. MEIL also collaborated with  Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to construct 40 oxygen generation plants.

Earlier, it supplied hospital equipment to Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences, and other private hospitals.

The company has built some prestigious projects like Polavaram in Andhra Pradesh and Kaleshwaram in Telangana. Megha is also building Asia’s longest tunnel zo-jila near Ladakh.
