RA Chem Pharma of Jadcherla Mandal in Mahabubnagar, Telangana, has partnered with the Akshay Patra Foundation to provide free lunches at 61 selected government schools in the district. The pharma company, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), will facilitate the distribution of mid-day meals to 5,000 school students in these schools.

The two organisations signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the whole year, from January to December 2022. Since one meal costs ₹4.80, RA Chem has pledged to donate ₹56.20,000 under the commitment.

Ravi Kumar Pisapati, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility, said, “Helping schoolchildren from disadvantaged economic backgrounds pay their school fees and provide them with notebooks is always part of our CSR. Partnering with The Akshaya Patra Foundation allows us to provide them with the necessary nutrition needed to bring children back to schools, which is in line with our vision and mission.”

Under the partnership, the first lunch of the association was organised in a public school in the village of Polepally, Jadcharla Mandal, where the children received freshly prepared, hot and nutritious food.

Acknowledging their initiative, Sandeep Talwar, CMO, Akshay Patra Foundation, said, “We are very grateful to RA Chem for helping us with our lunch programme.”
