Mette Frederiksen, Denmark’s Prime Minister, will arrive in India tomorrow for a three-day visit

Mette Frederiksen, the Danish Prime Minister, will visit India from October 9 to 11, during which both sides are scheduled to assess progress in implementing the ‘Green Strategic Partnership’ that the two countries created last year. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced the visit, saying it will “further develop and enhance the strong and friendly ties between the two countries.”

The green partnership, which was signed at a virtual summit between the two countries’ prime ministers, intends to provide a framework for further cooperation in renewable energy, the environment, the economy, climate change, and research and technology. According to the MEA, Frederiksen will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a bilateral basis and will also meet with think tanks, students, and representatives of civil society. She will also pay a visit to President Ram Nath Kovind.

“Mette Frederiksen’s visit will provide both parties with an opportunity to examine the full range of bilateral relations as well as the progress made in implementing the ‘Green Strategic Partnership.’ The two sides will also talk about regional and multilateral matters of mutual relevance, according to the MEA. Trade and business links between India and Denmark are significant. More than 200 Danish enterprises operate in India, whereas more than 60 Indian companies operate in Denmark. The MEA stated in a statement that “strong collaboration exists in the domains of renewable energy, clean technologies, water and waste management, agricultural and animal husbandry, science and technology, digitalisation including ICT, smart cities, shipping, and other fields.”

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Intellectual Property (IP) Cooperation with Denmark was also signed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Strategic Partnership for the Environment:
