Indian Railways Flagged Off 1000th Trip of Kisan Rail

The Kisan Rail will travel from Savda to Adarsh ​​Nagar in Delhi. A total of 23 coaches including 18 parcel vans have been installed in this Kisan Rail.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Thursday flagged off the 1000th Kisan Rail Service of Central Railway through a weblink.

This Kisan Rail travelled from Savda to Adarsh ​​Nagar in Delhi. A total of 23 coaches, including 18 parcel vans were installed in this Kisan Rail, in which 453 tonnes of bananas are being transported. On this occasion, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar said that our country is agriculture-oriented and many initiatives have been implemented for the betterment of farmers under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Kisan Rail initiative allows the movement of perishables such as fruits, vegetables, poultry, meat, dairy and fishery products from production or surplus regions to consumption or deficient regions. It permits farmers in the country to transport their agriculture produce to distant market places quickly as well as economically. This  transportation of perishables to markets at distant places at reasonable cost gets the famers better price.

Narendra Singh Tomar in his address said that there was a plan to transport fruits and vegetables to far-flung markets to get better prices through Kisan Rail. The Union Minister said that he is very happy to be present on this occasion to flag off the 1000th service of Kisan Rail on Central Railway as he was also present on the occasion of flagging off the first Kisan Rail and 100th Kisan Rail.

Kisan Rail has inspired farmers to take their agricultural produce to distant markets economically and faster, said the Rail Minister.

Union Minister of State for Railways, Coal and Mines Raosaheb Dadarao Patil Danve and MP Raksha Khadse were also appreciated the initiative. MLAs Chandrakant Patil and Shirish Chaudhary were present at Savda railway station. Railway Board Chairman and Chief Executive Officer V.K. Tripathi delivered the welcome address on the occasion and informed about the operation of Kisan Rail since its inception and how it is gaining popularity among small farmers. Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway presented a vote of thanks to everyone from Mumbai.
