Healthfab, a Bangalore-based health and hygiene start-up, has partnered with Yuwa India Trust, a non-profit organisation, to launch an initiative

Yuwa India Trust works with girls from destitute households in rural Jharkhand, where child marriage and human trafficking are very common. With over 250 players, they boast one of India’s largest girls’ football programmes. Healthfab will donate 1% of its sales to the betterment of the girls in this region as part of this cooperation. “We are pleased to have worked with an institution such as Yuwa,” Kiriti Acharjee, Co-founder of Healthfab, said of the alliance. “We intend to take our partnership to new steps as our company expands.”

In 2019, Healthfab launched with the goal of providing cheap solutions for a healthy and sustainable human life. GoPadFreeTM, India’s first standalone reusable period panty, promises to provide comfort to women while also encouraging a more plastic-free society. When utilising these panties, no additional period items such as sanitary pads, tampons, or cups are required. GoPadFree is now available for teenage females who want to start living a comfortable period cycle as soon as puberty begins. According to research, a single woman’s menstrual cycle can generate up to 125 kilogrammes of non-biodegradable sanitary waste.

Every year, around 3.3 million tonnes of plastic trash are produced in India, with sanitary waste accounting for 13% of this total. As a result, period panties are a more sustainable and comfortable option than menstruation products. Kiriti Acharjee, Saurav Chakraborty, and Satyajit Chakraborty founded Healthfab in 2019.
