Bharat Forge Receives CSR Award for Empowering the Underprivileged

In 2019, the company was awarded the prestigious Golden Peacock Award in Corporate Social Responsibility.

The Annual Award Function of Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) 2020 awarded Bharat Forge Ltd with the “Late Mr B. G. Deshmukh (IAS) Corporate Social Responsibility Award” at Balgandharva Rangamandir in Pune.

The award was received jointly by Bharat Forge and Tata Motors, and was given by Amol Nagar, MD, GE India Industrial Pvt Ltd., and Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors Ltd.

The award is intended to inspire organisations to include CSR in their societal commitments in the areas of health, education, job creation, skill development and empowering the underprivileged.

BFL mainly focuses on five sectors under its CSR initiatives, which are village development, education, skill development, women empowerment and community development and sports.

BFL’s efforts on the environment front include water-harvesting projects, planting and taking care of trees and keeping surroundings clean by constructing underground gutters in the villages.

In its social development project, the company aims for social inclusion by focusing on the development of every individual in its 100 target villages. It is helping drive livelihood by improving agriculture and facilitating skill development.

The education of underprivileged children is ensured by strengthening Zilla Parishad schools infrastructure.

The health and hygiene of villagers are ensured by facilitating safe drinking water and building infrastructure and facilities to store and conserve it. Bharat Forge Limited has spent ₹18.3 crore for corporate social responsibility (CSR) in FY 2021, the company annual report said.
