Adani Foundation Donates Rs 78.18 lakh For Paediatric Ventilator Beds in Udupi

Adani Foundation has given a grant of Rs 78.18 lakh from its CSR fund to the Udupi district administration for setting up ventilator-equipped pediatric ICU beds and allied medical equipment at Government Hospital, Karkala. This information was given by the Adani Group by issuing a release on Saturday.

Kishore Alva, president and executive director of Adani group, Karnataka, handed over the demand draft of Rs 78,18,500 to Udupi deputy commissioner M Kurma Rao.

“We are joining hands with the district administration in strengthening health care facilities,” Kishore Alva said. The cash was donated as part of the Adani Foundation‘s CSR efforts. 

Kishore Alva informed that under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner of Udupi, a meeting was called in the month of December 2021 inviting all the industries, associations and banks of the district in presence of District Health authorities and Commerce and Industries Department to discuss the possibilities of getting support from industries, associations and banks under CSR to make District / Government Hospitals in Udupi District cope-up with the emerging new covid variant ‘Omicron’.

Multipara Monitor, central monitoring system, syringe infusion pump, drip infusion pump, modular wall mount monitor stand, cardiac table and other equipment will be installed in the hospital, said Kishore Alva.

In August last year, the foundation had granted Rs 40 lakh to the district administration to combat Covid, which was utilised at the Udupi district hospital.

Adani Foundation is wholly owned by Adani Group. It is considered one of the major corporate-funded foundations operating in India.

The foundation was established in 1996 by the Adani Group to bring sustainable development and inclusive growth via developmental projects in post-liberalized India. Currently, Gautam Adani serves as the President of the Foundation, while his wife, Priti Adani, serves as the Chairperson. It began its operations around Mundra in Kutch and now works in over 18 states that include 2250 villages.
